Solomon Renfro Arrested for Alleged Assault in New York

New York-based mixed martial artist Solomon Renfro, 29, was taken into custody Sunday. Police responded to a 911 call at 47 Madison St. in Chinatown at approximately 5:55 a.m. They found a 22-year-old woman with visible scratches and bruises on her chest and arms.

Emergency medical services treated the victim at the scene. Renfro was detained for questioning.

Two hours after his arrest, Renfro was charged with assault, aggravated harassment, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Court records indicate Renfro was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on Sunday. He was referred to a court-ordered problem-solving program and is scheduled to return to court on November 18th. Renfro, 29, nicknamed “The Black Dragon,” was apprehended after police responded to a 911 call at 47 Madison St. in Chinatown around 5:55 a.m. They discovered the victim with scratches and bruises on her chest and arms.

The woman received treatment from EMS at the location, while Renfro was taken for questioning.

He was subsequently charged with assault, aggravated harassment, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Records show Renfro was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on Sunday. He was assigned to a court-ordered problem-solving program and is due back in court on November 18th. Renfro’s professional MMA record is 11-6, as per Tapology. He last competed in November 2024 at a Dirty Boxing event.
