Pulisic Ends 2026 Goal Drought for USA with a Goal and Assist

Sport news

AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic has finally broken his goal drought for 2026, making a significant impact with a goal and an assist within the first 20 minutes of the United States’ friendly match against Senegal. The USMNT secured a 3-2 victory in the encounter.

Pulisic had started the 2025-26 season in impressive form, scoring eight goals by the end of December. However, he then entered a barren spell, failing to find the back of the net in 19 Serie A appearances and two international fixtures. This drought coincided with his club, Milan, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification on the final day of the season.

The American international has now put an end to this goalless run. He scored the second goal in the USA’s 3-2 win over Senegal in Charlotte, North Carolina. This match is part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

The 26-year-old skillfully rounded Senegal’s goalkeeper, Mory Diaw, and slotted the ball into an empty net from close range. Pulisic had also set up Sergino Dest’s opening goal just six minutes into the game.
