Gianluigi Donnarumma believes Italy demonstrated the characteristics of a strong team during their 1-1 draw in France. "Not everyone can come here and perform like that," he stated.

Following mixed results in their initial Nations League matches, Italy's display against France offered a clearer picture of their current form. The team showed significant improvement, with Alessandro Bastoni's assertive play leading to the equalizer that cancelled out Michael Olise's deflected free-kick. This goal marked the first time Zinedine Zidane’s France conceded since he took charge, disrupting what was set to be a celebratory occasion for the French manager.

Donnarumma's Key Saves in Paris

“Coming here and delivering such a strong performance isn’t within everyone’s capabilities,” Donnarumma told Sky Sport Italia. His familiarity with the Stade de France, having previously played for Paris Saint-Germain, was evident.

“France is an exceptional team. Even when we needed to defend deep, we stayed united, which I really appreciated. I was disappointed after the Belgium loss, as defeats always sting, but I understood that this is the beginning of a lengthy process, and I knew setbacks were possible.

“I'm very pleased with the team's current trajectory and our approach today. Bastoni’s goal, where he pushed forward to challenge them on the ball, exemplifies the attitude of a great team.”

The Manchester City goalkeeper made seven saves during the match, his third-highest tally for Italy. He commented, “I’m in good form, feeling confident. The saves tonight were crucial, and I’m happy I could contribute to the team's effort, which was a fantastic collective performance.”

France's recent scoring pattern shows they've scored in the second half of their last 12 matches, while Italy has managed to prevent them from keeping a clean sheet in their last seven encounters.

“Young players need the space to make errors; that’s how they gain experience and maturity. We senior players aim to support them, both on and off the field, guiding them on the importance of giving maximum effort in every training session.”

Looking ahead to the final match of this stretch against Turkey in Bologna, Italy will be without Arda Guler, who received a red card in their 3-0 defeat to Belgium and will be suspended.
