Lazio's €30m Demand for Gila as Milan's Initial Bid is Rejected

AC Milan's pursuit of defender Mario Gila has encountered an initial hurdle, as Lazio has turned down the Rossoneri's opening offer. According to reports, Lazio is adamant about their valuation of at least €30 million for the Spanish player.

Milan had aimed to finalize their second summer signing this week, following the acquisition of striker Gonçalo Ramos. Gila, whose contract with Lazio extends until 2027, has previously indicated his unwillingness to renew his contract. Milan has been actively working to reach an agreement with the player, surpassing the interest previously shown by Napoli and Atalanta.

Lazio's insistence on the €30 million price tag stems from a clause in Gila's transfer agreement with Real Madrid, which entitles the Spanish club to 50% of any future sale. This obligation leaves Lazio with limited flexibility to accept a lower bid. Currently, there is a difference of approximately €5 million between the clubs' valuations.

Milan will need to increase their offer if they are serious about securing Gila for manager Ruben Amorim. Further updates on negotiations are expected shortly. While a broad agreement with the player and Lazio's willingness to sell are in place, the financial valuation remains a point of contention.
