According to the official UFC website, former welterweight title challenger Colby Covington (17-5) has been marked as “retired” from UFC competition. This information was initially highlighted by the automated X account, UFC Roster Tracker.
“Chaos” Covington, aged 38, has not yet issued a public statement regarding his current status. His last professional mixed martial arts appearance was in December 2024, when he suffered a loss to Joaquin Buckley.
Covington, a contentious figure in the MMA landscape, was once a prominent star for the UFC, largely due to his outspoken nature and often controversial public persona.
In recent months, Covington has participated in two non-UFC grappling contests. He secured victories against former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and grappling specialist Dillon Danis under the Real American Freestyle Wrestling banner. His next grappling match is scheduled against ex-UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman under the same ruleset at RAF 09 on May 30.
