Trabzonspor has reportedly set its sights on Roma’s striker Artem Dovbyk, but concerns regarding the transfer terms and medical examinations are posing challenges, according to Turkish media.
The centre-forward has seen limited playing time this season due to a series of injuries, featuring in only 18 competitive matches. Despite this, he managed to contribute three goals and two assists across Serie A and the Europa League, playing a role in his team’s qualification for the Champions League.
Dovbyk’s Future at Roma
Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini has acknowledged that Dovbyk’s playing style does not align with his tactical approach, making the 29-year-old available for transfer this summer.
While Trabzonspor has previously expressed interest, A Spor reports that discussions have recently gained momentum. Roma is looking to secure Olympique Marseille’s winger Mason Greenwood as a replacement, but his €50 million price tag presents a significant obstacle. Consequently, Roma needs to offload players to generate funds for this potential acquisition. Trabzonspor’s initial offer was a loan deal with an option to buy, which Roma has rejected. However, the Turkish club is expected to submit a revised proposal, potentially including a permanent transfer.
However, Fotomac indicates that a comprehensive medical evaluation of the Ukrainian international will be a critical step before any agreement can be finalized.
