According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mason Greenwood is amenable to joining Roma from Marseille this summer. The English winger could potentially fill the void left by Matias Soulé, who has reportedly received a transfer offer from Aston Villa.
Key Roma Transfer Developments: Greenwood as Soulé’s Successor?
Roma is planning a significant overhaul of their attacking line-up for the upcoming summer transfer window, with English winger Mason Greenwood identified as their primary target.
Earlier reports on Wednesday indicated that Roma had initiated contact with Greenwood’s representatives, and Gazzetta now confirms a positive response. The player appears very open to a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Gazzetta acknowledges that Marseille’s asking price of approximately €50 million for Greenwood, who is under contract until 2029, remains a considerable obstacle for Roma.
While Stephan El Shaarawy is set to depart Roma upon the expiration of his contract in June, Matias Soulé might also leave the Stadio Olimpico, having garnered interest from Aston Villa.
Gazzetta reports that the Europa League winners have already submitted a bid for Soulé, but it fell short of Roma’s valuation of €35-40 million.
