The agent of Lazio’s goalkeeper, Ivan Provedel, has confirmed that a transfer to Inter Milan during the upcoming summer transfer window is nearing completion. “We are very close to finalizing the deal,” the agent stated, adding, “He has always been a fan of Inter.”
Inter on the Verge of Concluding Budget-Friendly Provedel Agreement
According to multiple Italian media outlets, Inter Milan (Nerazzurri) is in the final stages of negotiations to sign Provedel from Lazio. The clubs are expected to exchange official documents within the next few days.
Recent reports from Gianluca Di Marzio indicate that Provedel has agreed to a three-year contract, which would keep him at the club until he is 35. His reported salary would be approximately €1.5 million per season.
A verbal agreement is reportedly in place between the two clubs for a transfer fee of just €3 million. This is particularly significant as Provedel would otherwise be entering the final year of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
“We are very close, and progress has been positive,” said Provedel’s agent, Gianni Rava. “I hope we can finalize this transfer soon. We are optimistic.”
Rava further commented on Provedel’s connection to Inter: “Provedel has always supported Inter, and I believe this move would represent a significant milestone in his career. He is a talented player who will come to the club ready to compete. We are confident about this potential transfer.”
Inter is looking to bring in Provedel as a replacement for Yann Sommer, who has been the club’s number one goalkeeper for the past three seasons and will be departing upon the expiration of his contract at the end of June.
Previously, Inter had been linked with more expensive top-choice goalkeepers, such as Guglielmo Vicario of Tottenham. However, the club has apparently shifted its strategy, opting to promote their recent understudy, Josep Martinez, and secure an experienced goalkeeper with a proven Serie A track record in Provedel.
