Juventus is reportedly considering a move for Emerson Palmieri, an Italian international and Euro 2020 winner, to reinforce their full-back options. This potential signing comes after the club missed out on acquiring Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson.
Could Juventus Reunite Spalletti with Emerson?
With aspirations to compete for the Scudetto in the 2026-27 season, Juventus’s financial plans have been impacted by their failure to qualify for the Champions League in the closing stages of the 2025-26 season. Andrew Robertson, the Liverpool left-back, was an attractive free transfer target for Juventus. However, due to the club’s Champions League absence and Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League survival, Robertson is now expected to join the North London club.
According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus may now turn their attention to Emerson Palmieri. The Brazilian-born Italian international has a prior working relationship with coach Luciano Spalletti from their time together at Roma, a connection that could prove beneficial.
The left-back position at Juventus is anticipated to undergo significant changes this summer. Reports suggest that Andrea Cambiaso might be sold to generate funds for new acquisitions. Additionally, Filip Kostic’s contract is set to expire, and Juan Cabal could also be allowed to depart.
Juventus is reportedly monitoring the 31-year-old Emerson. He spent the 2025-26 season in Ligue 1 with Marseille, featuring in 28 league matches and 37 across all competitions.
