Manchester United’s Maguire Offered to Inter, But Nerazzurri Have Other Priorities

Sport news

According to Italian media, Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been presented as an option to Serie A and Coppa Italia champions Inter Milan. However, the Nerazzurri currently have different transfer priorities for the upcoming summer window, with Oumar Solet being a potential target.

Maguire Linked with Inter, But Solet is the Preferred Choice

Under the management of Cristian Chivu, Inter achieved a domestic double in his inaugural full season as senior head coach. The club aims to strengthen their squad with several reinforcements, particularly in defence and midfield.

Senior players Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian are set to depart when their contracts conclude at the end of June, and it’s highly probable that Stefan De Vrij will follow suit. Additionally, there are indications that Yann Bisseck might be sold to Bayern Munich for a considerable profit this summer.

Several centre-backs have been mentioned in connection with moves to San Siro ahead of the summer transfer period. Sassuolo’s Tarik Muharemovic has been a long-standing target, but the Neroverdi are reportedly inclined to postpone discussions about a potential sale until after the World Cup, hoping for an increase in his market value during the tournament.

As per the latest updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Udinese’s Oumar Solet is currently Inter’s primary defensive signing target. Concurrently, Marco Palestra is considered a strong candidate to join as a right wing-back.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that intermediaries from England have offered Maguire, who was recently excluded from England’s World Cup squad, to Inter.

Maguire, at 33 years old, signed a one-year contract extension at Old Trafford earlier this season, securing his place at the club until the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign. There is a growing possibility that he will be allowed to leave this summer.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Inter is not in a position to prioritize the signing of England’s most-capped defender at this juncture.
