Reports from Italy indicate that former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca recently held discussions with Napoli and expressed openness to the coaching position. Despite this, Maresca would reportedly give preference to a potential offer from Manchester City.
Maresca has been in the news recently following the dismissal of his successor at Chelsea, Liam Rosenior, just four months after Maresca himself was let go on January 1st.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Maresca has no current intention of returning to Stamford Bridge and is focused on his next career move for the 2026-27 season.
Maresca Navigates Interest from Napoli and Manchester City
It is understood that Maresca met with representatives of Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis in London in recent days. The meeting is described as positive, with Maresca seemingly indicating his willingness to accept the Napoli job should Antonio Conte depart this summer.
However, should Manchester City present a proposal, Maresca would reportedly prioritize it due to his prior association with the club. He served as assistant manager to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City during the 2022-23 season, having previously coached their Under-23 squad. His only prior experience in Serie A coaching was a brief 14-game stint at Parma in 2021.
