Napoli has officially secured a place in the Champions League with one game remaining, confirming Rasmus Hojlund’s permanent €44 million transfer to the club from Manchester United.
The team’s 3-0 victory over Pisa on Sunday guaranteed them a top-four finish in the league, paving the way for Hojlund’s permanent move to the Stadio Maradona.
The Denmark international initially joined Napoli last summer on a €6 million loan deal with an option to buy, which has now become a mandatory purchase due to the Champions League qualification. Hojlund is set to complete his transfer to Napoli for an additional €44 million.
Although Napoli’s director, Giovanni Manna, indicated in March that Hojlund would be signed permanently regardless of Champions League qualification, the team’s official achievement now seals his long-term future at the club.
This season, Hojlund has been a vital asset for Napoli, scoring 15 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions and accumulating over 3,400 minutes of playing time. He has been the primary center-forward for the team throughout a significant portion of the season.
His late goal in Napoli’s 3-0 win against Pisa on Sunday was crucial in securing their Champions League berth with 90 minutes still left in the 2025-26 campaign.
