Serie A Official Line-ups: Roma vs. Lazio

Sport news

Roma features Paulo Dybala and Donyell Malen in their starting lineup, while Matias Soulé begins on the bench for the Derby della Capitale. Lazio, on the other hand, is forced to debut Alessio Furlanetto in goal due to existing absences.

The match is scheduled to kick off at the Stadio Olimpico at 11:00 AM UK time (12:00 PM CEST).

The scheduling of this fixture presented significant challenges, impacted by security concerns and the Italian Open men’s singles tennis final occurring simultaneously at the Foro Italico, adjacent to the Stadio Olimpico. This led to the unusual midday local kick-off time, which drew criticism from Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri.

Roma enters this penultimate round of the season in joint fourth place in the league standings alongside Milan. Unfortunately, Koné sustained a muscular injury in training and is unavailable for selection.

Neil El Aynaoui will drop into a deeper midfield role, allowing Niccolò Pisilli and Paulo Dybala to play further forward in support of striker Donyell Malen. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Artem Dovbyk are back in the squad but are not fully fit after extended periods out of action. Bryan Zaragoza and Evan Ferguson remain sidelined due to injuries.

Lazio is coming off a 2-0 defeat to Inter in the Coppa Italia Final, a result that confirms their failure to qualify for European competition. Adding to their woes, Mattia Zaccagni and Edoardo Motta have also reported fresh injuries.

With Ivan Provedel already ruled out for the remainder of the season, third-choice goalkeeper Alessio Furlanetto is set to make his Serie A debut. The 24-year-old’s last competitive match was in Serie C on loan at Fermana in March 2024.

Patric and Samuel Gigot are also not fully fit, and Alessio Romagnoli is suspended following his red card against Inter, meaning Oliver Provstgaard will step into the defense. Boulaye Dia, Tijjani Noslin, and Matteo Cancellieri will form Lazio’s attacking trio, with Pedro on the bench.
