Luciano Spalletti, who recently extended his contract with Juventus until 2028, is reportedly seeking increased control over the club’s transfer activities. This demand comes as Juventus faces potential financial implications, possibly exacerbated by a lack of Champions League revenue.
The Italian manager is scheduled to meet with club owner John Elkann in the coming days to discuss the team’s strategy for the 2026-27 season. The club is currently at risk of missing out on the top four, sitting two points behind a Champions League spot with only one league game remaining.
Reports from Italian media suggest that Spalletti has experienced disagreements with CEO Damien Comolli, particularly concerning transfer strategy. Consequently, according to Corriere dello Sport, Spalletti intends to request more power in market operations from Elkann.
Spalletti is also reportedly concerned about the potential need to sell key players. Such sales might become necessary to compensate for the financial shortfall resulting from not qualifying for the Champions League.
While Gazzetta reports that Juventus has no intention of selling Kenan Yildiz, Gleison Bremer is identified as a player who could depart the Allianz Stadium this summer. Liverpool and Manchester United are noted as clubs reportedly showing interest in the defender.
