Bonucci Joins Italy Coaching Staff Under Mancini

Leonardo Bonucci will be a part of Roberto Mancini's coaching team for the Italian national squad, according to the FIGC's confirmation of the complete list of technical collaborators.

Following a period of turmoil for the Azzurri and the Italian Football Federation, Mancini has been reinstated as the head coach of the Italy national team.

Gennaro Gattuso departed from his role as CT after the team's defeat in the World Cup play-off final against Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 31. This was followed by the resignations of delegation chief Gianluigi Buffon and FIGC President Gabriele Gravina.

Giovanni Malagò has taken over as FIGC President from Gravina, and Mancini has been appointed as the new head coach, succeeding Gattuso. This appointment came after inquiries were made to Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti, and Andrea Pirlo, with Paolo Maldini also leaving his position as technical director of the FIGC after a short tenure of just 17 days.

Italy's Coaching Staff Finalized: Bonucci Included

After several turbulent months, the 'new' Italian national team is finally starting to take shape in anticipation of the Nations League campaign, which begins in September.

Mancini and the FIGC have now officially announced the full roster of coaches who will be working with the senior men's team going forward.

Gabriele Oriali will serve as the 'team manager' under Mancini. The 1982 World Cup winner previously worked as a technical director when Mancini coached Inter and also held the position of team manager for the Italian national team under both Mancini and Antonio Conte from 2014 to 2023.

Alberto Bollini will continue as the assistant head coach for the Italy national team. Bollini, aged 60, has been involved with the Azzurri setup and its youth teams since 2019.

The list of first-team coaches will feature Bonucci, alongside Antonio Gagliardi and Massimo Maccarone.

Marco Roccati and Cristiano Lupatelli have been appointed as the goalkeeping coach and assistant goalkeeper coach, respectively. Giacomo Ceci and Marco Montini are confirmed as the fitness coaches, and Renato Baldi and Christian Venturini will be the chief analysts.
