Inter Boosts Moussa Diaby Offer Amidst Bayer Leverkusen Competition
Inter Milan is reportedly preparing an enhanced bid to Al-Ittihad for Moussa Diaby, with the new offer exceeding €20 million and including Kristjan Asllani. This move comes as Diaby shows hesitation regarding a potential transfer to Bayer Leverkusen.
The French international, who operates primarily as a right-sided winger, is viewed by Inter as an ideal successor to Denzel Dumfries, who departed for Real Madrid this summer upon the activation of his release clause.
Inter Remains in Pursuit of Diaby
The 27-year-old forward only joined Al-Ittihad in 2024. Reports previously suggested that Bayer Leverkusen was nearing an agreement with his club for a fee below €30 million.
However, sources now indicate that Diaby is reluctant about a move back to Germany, expressing greater interest in the prospect of joining Inter for a new chapter in his career.
A key challenge for Inter lies in meeting Al-Ittihad's valuation and covering Diaby's salary, which is reported to be €6 million per season. The player, for his part, is understood to be open to a pay cut in exchange for a return to European football.
Inter's initial proposal, which consisted of €20 million plus Albania international Asllani, was reportedly rejected. Nevertheless, it is understood that the Nerazzurri are formulating a revised and improved offer, expected within the coming hours.
It's worth noting that Italian football is not entirely unfamiliar territory for Diaby, as he had a brief stint with Crotone in 2018.
