Lazio Loans Frattesi Amid Inter's Nottingham Forest Hopes for Funds
Lazio has reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Davide Frattesi on a loan basis. However, Inter Milan remains optimistic about a permanent transfer to Nottingham Forest, which would then allow them to reinvest the proceeds into signing Liverpool's Curtis Jones.
The Nerazzurri are facing challenges in their transfer market activities this summer due to their need to sell players before they can secure new signings, a process that is proving to be exceptionally difficult.
Inter Needs a Buyer for Frattesi
Frattesi was considered the most likely player to depart after experiencing limited first-team opportunities under both Simone Inzaghi and later Cristian Chivu. Nevertheless, no club has yet been willing to meet Inter's €30 million asking price for the Italian international.
Juventus and Nottingham Forest had previously shown interest in Frattesi. Now, Lazio appears to be making an approach as well, with reports from Sport Mediaset, Fabrizio Romano, and others confirming contact.
The primary obstacle is Lazio's financial capacity, as they are only able to offer a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season. This option could potentially become an obligation if certain performance-related conditions are met.
Frattesi will turn 27 next month and has a prior connection to Lazio, having started his youth career there before moving to Roma. His potential move to Lazio might encounter difficulties, given his previous public statements of being a Roma supporter and his desire to play for that club.
For Inter, a successful sale of Frattesi would provide the necessary funds to pursue Liverpool's €40 million-rated midfielder, Curtis Jones.
