Lazio Shocked as Markmann Refuses €6m Nordsjaelland Transfer
Lazio were left stunned when defender Noah Markmann, a Denmark U21 international, unexpectedly rejected a €6 million move from Nordsjaelland to the Stadio Olimpico. The clubs had reached an agreement on the transfer fee, which included add-ons, and Lazio were prepared to finalize the medical and contract signing.
However, reports from Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia confirm that Markmann himself halted the transfer. The 19-year-old believes he has more promising career prospects and is unwilling to commit to Lazio at this time.
According to transfer insider Alfredo Pedullà, Markmann and his family are prioritizing a club where he is guaranteed regular first-team action. This is not perceived to be the situation at Lazio, particularly with Alessio Romagnoli's potential stay following his move to Saudi Arabia falling through.
It is understood that Markmann has at least two other offers on the table. He also has the option to extend his current contract with Nordsjaelland. Clubs from Trabzonspor and the Premier League have expressed interest in the young defender.
