Luis Henrique Hesitant on Roma Transfer Amidst Inter's €30m Demands
Inter Milan is working on offloading players to fund new signings. While a deal for Davide Frattesi to join Lazio for €15 million plus a 50% sell-on clause is progressing, winger Luis Henrique remains unconvinced about a potential €30 million transfer to Roma.
The Nerazzurri require player sales to bring in reinforcements, specifically Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur for approximately €31.5 million (potentially rising to €35 million with add-ons) and Curtis Jones from Liverpool for over €35 million.
Spence is anticipated in Milan on Thursday to undergo his medical and finalize contract negotiations.
Inter's Need to Sell Luis Henrique
The initial step in squad streamlining has been the agreement for Frattesi's loan to Lazio, which includes a €1 million loan fee and an obligation to buy for €14 million under certain conditions. This fee only represents half of the €30 million Inter is asking, as they will retain 50% of any future sale of the player.
However, Inter's plans to sell Luis Henrique to Roma have encountered difficulties. Although the clubs are reportedly close to agreeing on a fee just under €30 million, the Brazilian player is reportedly not fully on board with the move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his Italian language YouTube channel, the player needs to be persuaded to join Roma. He also has significant salary expectations that Roma finds problematic.
Sky Sport Italia has reported that Inter informed Luis Henrique this evening that he is available for transfer. It remains to be seen if he will be willing to accept a move, especially just one year after his arrival at the club.
