Parma and Carlos Cuesta Part Ways
Parma has dismissed Carlos Cuesta, announcing the decision Sunday during an international break and shortly after a league victory.
The club stated the split followed internal discussions, stemming from a divergence in vision for the team's future, not from performance.
"Parma Calcio 1913 confirms that Carlos Cuesta is no longer the head coach of the men's first team," the statement read.
"After internal talks between the club and the coach, both parties concluded that the conditions for the professional relationship to continue were no longer present, specifically concerning the evolution of the sporting project. The necessary foundation for the work undertaken to proceed was absent, leading to this mutual decision."
Coaching staff to lead Monday's session as Parma continues work during the break
The club will have its technical staff manage Monday's training while they seek a new appointment.
The statement concluded with expressions of gratitude from president Kyle J. Krause, CEO Federico Cherubini, and the sporting directorate for Cuesta's "months of work, commitment, and dedication."
Italian media reports suggest that tensions between Cuesta and the club's leadership were present since the season's outset and were unrelated to game outcomes, especially as Parma secured a win in their last match before the break.
