Roma Secures Pellegrini's Future Until 2026-27
Multiple Italian news sources indicate that AS Roma and their former captain, Lorenzo Pellegrini, have come to an understanding regarding a new contract. This agreement is expected to keep the 20-year-old player with the club through the 2026-27 season.
Pellegrini Poised to Extend Roma Stay
Reports from prominent Italian football journalists like Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano suggest that a verbal accord, or an agreement in principle, has been established with Pellegrini. This new deal, a one-year extension, will tie him to Roma until the conclusion of the 2026-27 campaign.
Pellegrini's previous contract with the Giallorossi officially expired on June 30, making him a free agent. However, this new agreement signals his continued commitment to the club.
The 36-cap Italian international has dedicated the majority of his professional career to Roma. He initially joined the club's youth academy as a child in 2007. Following a two-year stint with Sassuolo between 2015 and 2017, Roma exercised their buy-back option in the summer of 2017, and Pellegrini has remained a fixture at the Stadio Olimpico ever since.
Throughout his tenure with the Giallorossi, Pellegrini has amassed an impressive 349 competitive appearances and has scored 62 goals.
