Ruben Amorim Arrives in Milan: 'It's an Honour to Be Milan's Coach'
Ruben Amorim has landed in Milan, marking the beginning of his tenure as the new coach of the San Siro club. Upon his arrival on Monday, he shared his initial thoughts, stating it's an honor to lead the Rossoneri and expressing his eagerness for his first experience in Italian football.
The Portuguese manager's arrival precedes Milan's first summer signing confirmation, Gonçalo Ramos, who is currently with Portugal at the World Cup. Amorim is scheduled to visit Casa Milan on Monday to familiarize himself with the club's headquarters before heading to the Milanello training facility on Tuesday to commence his project.
Amorim Expresses Ambition to Win with Milan
Speaking at the airport, Amorim conveyed his pride in taking on the role and his clear objectives.
"I am extremely happy to be here; it is an honor to be Milan's coach," he stated, as reported by DiMarzio.
"This is a significant challenge. After my previous role, I had intended to take on a less demanding position, but I am here, and this challenge is even greater. I am truly proud to be here and am eager to start working with my players and staff. My aim at Milan? To win, of course. To be Milan's coach means you must strive for victory."
His remark about his "previous challenge" refers to his prior position at Manchester United. Milan faces a considerable rebuilding task following a disappointing season that saw them miss out on Champions League qualification.
RedBird and Gerry Cardinale have placed their trust in Amorim, a young and modern coach, to revitalize the team. The new manager has wasted no time in setting a determined tone for his leadership.
