Scott McTominay Nears Napoli Return After Missing Osasuna Friendly
Scott McTominay is reportedly on the verge of returning to action with Napoli, following his absence from a pre-season friendly against LaLiga side Osasuna on Wednesday evening. Latest reports confirm his imminent comeback.
Napoli secured a 2-1 victory over Osasuna on Wednesday, with goals from Matteo Politano and Lorenzo Lucca contributing to the win at the Teofilo Patini Stadium in Castel di Sangro. However, Massimiliano Allegri was without the Scotland international, McTominay, who had temporarily withdrawn from training a few days prior due to discomfort in his left foot. This injury also prevented him from participating in the friendly against Osasuna.
The former Manchester United midfielder had been undergoing individual training sessions since reporting the foot issue. However, according to recent updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, McTominay rejoined the full first-team training group on Thursday. He is now anticipated to be part of the squad for Napoli’s remaining pre-season fixtures this summer.
Rafa Marin is in a similar situation; he was also unavailable for the Osasuna match but has since returned to training on Thursday.
Napoli's Serie A campaign is set to commence with an away fixture against Genoa on August 22.
