Trevoh Chalobah Joins Como from Chelsea in Ambitious Project
Trevoh Chalobah has officially made the move to Como from Chelsea, with reports indicating a transfer fee of €30 million plus add-ons. Chalobah expressed his excitement about joining what he described as an "ambitious, rising project" and highlighted the special opportunity to reunite with manager Cesc Fabregas.
The transfer negotiations had been ongoing for several weeks. Initially, Como had paused discussions as part of a non-aggression pact with Inter. However, when Inter decided the €30 million asking price plus potential add-ons was too high, they withdrew from the deal, leaving the path open for Como.
Chalobah Arrives in Serie A with Como
Chalobah underwent his medical examinations in Italy on Wednesday, and the transfer was finalized and announced today. The 27-year-old defender has signed a contract with Como that will keep him at the club until June 2031, concluding his tenure with Chelsea, where he rose through the youth ranks.
"I am thrilled and honored to be here at Como," Chalobah stated on the club's official website. "It's an ambitious, rising project, and working with manager Cesc Fabregas again is truly special. I can’t wait to bring my experience to the team, feel the incredible atmosphere at the stadium, and connect with the fans. I will give my absolute all every single day to make history together."
Fabregas, who previously worked with Chalobah during his time at Chelsea, acknowledged the defender's development and noted his recent inclusion in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup.
“Trevoh is an important signing for us and a player who represents the level of ambition we have at this club,” said Fabregas. “He has competed and won at the highest level, but he is also hungry to begin a new chapter and continue improving. He gives us strength, speed, and personality in defense, as well as the technical quality to build from the back. He is a leader who can raise the level of the team, and I am very happy that he has chosen Como.”
Following Chalobah's departure after a significant period at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's official social media channels posted a heartfelt farewell message to the player.
