Inter Milan is reportedly preparing to make another attempt to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, who remains eager for a move. The Italian club had previously tried to acquire the player in January.
Inter had identified Jones as a potential replacement during the January transfer window, anticipating the departure of Davide Frattesi to Nottingham Forest. The proposed deal was a loan with an option to buy for approximately €40 million at the end of the season. However, the transfer couldn’t be finalized without an extension to Jones’s contract at Anfield.
Jones Open to Joining Inter
The 25-year-old midfielder’s current contract with Liverpool extends until June 2027, and his contract situation remains unresolved. This could allow Inter to submit an offer for his outright purchase at a significantly reduced price.
According to Sportitalia, Jones has given his approval for a transfer to San Siro, leaving the negotiation of terms between the clubs.
Meanwhile, Frattesi appears to be nearing an exit from Inter once again, having struggled for consistent game time under Cristian Chivu, a situation that also plagued him under former coach Simone Inzaghi.
Curtis Jones is a product of the Liverpool youth academy and has spent his entire professional career with the club. This season, he has contributed two goals and three assists in 45 competitive appearances for the Reds.
