Lukaku’s Premier League Return Possible as Napoli Seeks €20m

Striker Romelu Lukaku may be on the verge of a move back to the Premier League this summer, as Napoli is reportedly open to his departure as they plan for an offensive overhaul next season.

Lukaku has struggled to find consistent form this season, with only seven appearances and a total playtime of just over an hour due to persistent hamstring and muscular injuries. His limited availability is understood to have influenced Napoli’s decision to seek a different path.

This strategic shift has already begun with the club securing Rasmus Højlund on a permanent deal, indicating a clear long-term change in their forward lineup. With just over a year remaining on his contract, Lukaku is among the players who could be moved on to facilitate this transition.

While initial inquiries have been made within Serie A, including tentative approaches to AC Milan and Inter Milan, neither club has shown significant interest in a transfer at this time. Although Lukaku would prefer to stay in Italy, the lack of concrete offers has led him to explore other possibilities.

According to reports, a return to England is now a viable option. Lukaku possesses extensive Premier League experience, having previously played for Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton, and West Bromwich Albion, with his most recent stint in England concluding in 2022.

Intermediaries are actively reaching out to several English clubs to gauge their interest as Lukaku considers his next career move. Napoli is believed to be willing to accept a transfer fee in the region of €20 million, though the finalization of any deal will hinge on his fitness and the overall financial terms of the transfer.
