Gerry Cardinale Deepens Engagement with AC Milan Ahead of San Siro Derby
RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale has arrived at Milanello, where he met with the AC Milan squad today, just hours before the highly anticipated derby at San Siro. This visit caps off a demanding 48-hour period for Cardinale, which, according to American media reports, included participation in a university sports roundtable organized by former President Trump at the White House.
Cardinale's presence at Milanello, meeting the team on the eve of such a crucial match, underscores a noticeable shift in his approach over recent months. He is demonstrating a clear desire to be physically closer to AC Milan, a significant increase in involvement compared to the past.
This closer engagement is reflected in his recent visits. Cardinale was in Milan on January 21, conveying RedBird's intent to conclude the season with the existing management. Just 25 days later, on February 15, he made another trip to Milanello. The following day, February 16, marked his first official presence at a Lega Calcio meeting alongside fellow club owners. The upcoming derby will be the sixth he has witnessed live at San Siro. He recalls his first derby on September 3, 2022, as the most memorable, while the most recent one in April 2024, which saw Inter clinch the Scudetto, was undoubtedly the least enjoyable.
