PGA Tour Partners with Zyrtec for "Yes Season" Allergy Relief
Allergy season presents a significant challenge for golfers, with high pollen counts often impacting performance on the course. Recognizing this widespread issue, Zyrtec, a prominent allergy relief brand, has officially partnered with the PGA Tour as its inaugural Allergy Relief Sponsor. This multi-year agreement, facilitated by Zyrtec's parent company, Kenvue, Inc., aims to provide much-needed support to players and fans alike.
The collaboration highlights the genuine struggle many golfers experience, including PGA Tour winner Akshay Bhatia and rising star Neal Shipley, both of whom serve as player ambassadors for Zyrtec. Bhatia shared his personal experience: "Throughout my career, intense allergy symptoms frequently coincide with the most crucial weeks of my year. That's why I've consistently relied on Zyrtec as part of my routine, ensuring allergies don't affect how I perform, even in high-allergen environments." Jenn Lovell, Commercial Head, US Allergy, Kenvue, emphasized the authenticity of this connection, noting that both ambassadors were already loyal Zyrtec users.
With one in four adults experiencing seasonal allergies, and Zyrtec being a leading doctor-recommended over-the-counter oral allergy brand, the partnership is well-placed. It introduces Zyrtec's "Yes Season" campaign, designed to encourage individuals to engage in activities they love without the limitations imposed by allergy symptoms.
Golf, in particular, exposes players to extended periods of grass and pollen, making it a prime setting for severe allergy flare-ups. Lovell explained, "Spring allergies affect millions, and golf is where symptoms can be most challenging, even for top players like Akshay. We know that eighty-five percent of PGA Tour players are affected by allergies, and Zyrtec offers a tangible benefit." The slightest distraction—such as an itchy eye during a crucial putt or a sneeze mid-swing—can critically impact a golfer's precision and overall performance, rendering effective allergy relief a "competitive necessity."
Zyrtec has already begun engaging with fans on-site at events like Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass during the Tour’s Florida swing. These interactive experiences included stations like the "Pollen PuttPutt" and "The Relief Club," which offered giveaways such as product samples, custom-monogrammed golf towels, and refreshments, all while educating fans about the product's benefits.
Looking ahead, Zyrtec plans to extend its presence to three additional tournaments in 2026: the RBC Heritage in April, the Truist Championship a month later, and the Tour Championship during the summer. Dan Glod, Executive Vice President, Corporate Partnerships for the PGA Tour, expressed enthusiasm for the alliance, stating, "We are pleased to welcome Zyrtec into our marketing partner family as the Official Allergy Relief Sponsor of the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. With our players and fans in mind, we're thrilled to now provide on-site relief as the golf calendar shifts to Spring and allergy season kicks into high gear."
