Footage has surfaced showing Gianni Rava, the representative for Lazio’s goalkeeper Ivan Provedel, visiting Inter’s facilities. The Nerazzurri are reportedly in discussions to acquire the 32-year-old to provide support for Josep Martinez next season.
Inter is anticipated to sign a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window. This is due to the impending departure of Yann Sommer, who has been the club’s primary goalkeeper for the past three seasons and whose contract concludes at the end of this month.
For a significant portion of the 2024-25 season, there were rumors that Inter would aim to bring in a new first-choice goalkeeper, with Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario being strongly linked with a move to San Siro.
However, more recent reports suggest that Inter intends to promote Josep Martinez, who has served as Sommer’s understudy for the last two seasons, rather than signing a new, potentially expensive, primary goalkeeper.
Lazio’s Provedel has emerged as a strong candidate for Inter this summer. The 32-year-old possesses considerable Serie A experience with clubs like Lazio, Spezia, and Empoli. He is a former recipient of the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year award and will be entering the final year of his contract with Lazio in July.
His agent, Rava, was observed at Inter’s headquarters on Wednesday, with multiple outlets confirming that his visit was to discuss a potential transfer for Provedel.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, Lazio is expected to request a transfer fee in the range of €4 million to €5 million for the 32-year-old goalkeeper this summer.
