Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of the Brazilian national team, has announced that Neymar will be fit and available for their final World Cup group stage game against Scotland. The team is also set to implement further changes for this crucial match.
Following their 3-0 victory over Haiti, Brazil is now focusing on their upcoming encounter with Scotland, scheduled for Wednesday, June 24th, with an 11 pm BST kick-off.
Neymar’s Return Confirmed for Scotland Match
During a recent press conference, Ancelotti hinted at potential squad adjustments for the next game. “I don’t want to give a definitive identity; I might change something in the next match,” he stated, as reported by Gazzetta. He emphasized the team’s objective: “We want to beat Scotland to finish top of the group; that would be important. We will prepare for it, but it won’t be easy. Scotland have very defined characteristics; they caused Morocco problems and can do the same to us. But we must remain calm, composed, and focused on our game. The psychologist is working with us and is helping us.”
Neymar, who missed the initial two matches due to an injury, is now set to make his return. “He’s fine; he’ll train alone for a day and then return to the squad. He’ll be available for Scotland,” Ancelotti confirmed.
In contrast, Barcelona winger Raphinha sustained an injury during the previous game and had to be substituted. “We are waiting for the tests to understand what he has,” Ancelotti commented on Raphinha’s condition.
Ancelotti also shared his thoughts on the controversial hydration breaks implemented at the World Cup, which have drawn criticism from various figures in the football world. “I like them; with the intense heat, players can recover, and we coaches can adjust things,” he concluded.
