Legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho has joined Italian third-division side Ravenna. Reports from Italian sources indicate that he will participate in a single competitive match and acquire a minority stake in the club.
The former AC Milan and Barcelona star has officially signed a contract with Serie C team Ravenna.
Will Ronaldinho Play in Italy’s Third Division?
The transfer was confirmed by Ronaldinho himself, alongside Ravenna’s President Ignazio Cipriani and vice president Ariedo Braida. Braida, notably, was the executive who brought Ronaldinho to AC Milan from Barcelona back in 2008.
According to insights from Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano, the arrangement for Ronaldinho, aged 46, is unique. He will not be a regular member of the squad, nor will he travel with the team for away games during the 2026-27 season.
Despite this, the Brazilian icon will maintain a close connection with the club and the team.
His involvement will include a brief cameo in a Serie C match during the season, and he will also become a minority shareholder.
Furthermore, Ravenna’s kits for the 2026-27 season will proudly display Ronaldinho’s renowned R10 logo.
Ronaldinho is scheduled for an official presentation at a special event in Miami on June 23. He is expected to travel to Ravenna around August 20 to attend the team’s official unveiling.
