Nico Paz’s Como Decision Sparks €60m Real Madrid Transfer Row

Sport news

Nico Paz’s choice to remain with Como until the 2026-27 season has reportedly displeased Real Madrid. The Spanish club still desires the Argentine’s return to the Bernabéu, but Como would need to pay a significant €60 million for a permanent transfer.

Earlier this week, reports from Spain indicated that Paz opted to extend his stay at the Stadio Sinigaglia for another year. This decision is attributed to Real Madrid’s acquisition of several experienced players, including Bernardo Silva, which would intensify the competition for attacking positions next season.

While Italian sources had previously suggested that Como was confident of retaining Paz and that talks were ongoing with Real Madrid regarding the transfer terms, the situation has now escalated.

Nico Paz is currently a Como player, having made a permanent move from Real Madrid two years ago. However, Real Madrid holds a buy-back option for the player, valid until 2027.

Should Real Madrid decide to re-sign Paz this summer, the buy-back fee would be €10 million. For the following campaign, the fee would increase to €11 million.

Furthermore, Como is reportedly entitled to a 50% sell-on clause if Paz remains with the club beyond the current summer transfer window.

According to reports, Real Madrid still aims to bring the Argentine back to the club this summer by activating their buy-back clause. They have informed Como that the only way to secure Paz’s permanent transfer is by meeting the €60 million valuation.
