Italian international Sandro Tonali utilized his days off from Newcastle United to support his boyhood club, Brescia, during their Serie C play-off matches.
The midfielder, who recently celebrated his 26th birthday, was granted some time to rest before the Premier League season’s final stretch. He chose to return home and, predictably, couldn’t stay away from football for too long.
Brescia Welcomes Tonali Back Home
Tonali was a special guest of Union Brescia and was seen in the stands cheering them on in their Serie C play-off against Casarano at the Stadio Rigamonti.
His journey with the club began at the age of 12 when he joined the Brescia youth academy. He progressed through the ranks, eventually becoming a regular in the senior team.
This progression led to his dream move to Milan in 2020, the club he had always supported, followed by his transfer to Newcastle United in the summer of 2023.
Brescia has undergone significant changes during this period. The club faced bankruptcy in June 2025 and was subsequently excluded from the Serie C tournament. Reborn as Union Brescia last summer, they are now competing for promotion, with a notable fan in the stands.
