Serie A: Fiorentina vs. Sassuolo – Confirmed line-ups and updates

Sport news

Fiorentina will face Sassuolo at the Stadio Franchi in Serie A on Sunday afternoon without forwards Moise Kean and Roberto Piccoli.

Paolo Vanoli’s side drew 1-1 away against Lecce in their last Serie A match. Despite a slow start to the 2025-26 season, they are currently on a six-game unbeaten streak in the league.

Sassuolo secured a 2-1 victory against high-flying Como last weekend, a positive rebound after their 2-1 defeat to Genoa the previous week.

Before Sunday’s match, Fiorentina sits in 15th place, eight points clear of the relegation zone with five games remaining. Sassuolo is in 10th place with 45 points and has mathematically secured their safety from relegation this season.

Vanoli will be without Kean and Piccoli in attack. Albert Gudmundsson will lead the line, supported by Jack Harrison and Manor Solomon on the flanks. Fiorentina is also set to give a full Serie A debut to 20-year-old left-back Luis Balbo.

Sassuolo will be missing Domenico Berardi, meaning Christian Volpato will start in attack alongside Andrea Pinamonti and Armand Lauriente for the Neroverdi.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 11:30 BST.
