Alisson Santos Shines for Napoli, Brazil Eyes Him, But Permanent Deal Uncertain
Alisson Santos has made a significant impression at Napoli and has even caught the eye of Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of the Brazilian national team, who sent scouts to observe the player. However, despite his strong performances, the Italian club has not yet made a final decision regarding the permanent acquisition of his contract from Sporting CP.
The 23-year-old wide attacker joined Napoli in January on a six-month loan deal costing €3.5 million, with an option to buy him outright for an additional €16 million at the end of the season.
Although Santos has only made five competitive appearances for Napoli, he has already scored two crucial goals: one in the 2-2 draw against Roma and another in the 2-1 victory over Torino.
His successful displays have reportedly drawn Ancelotti's attention, who may be considering him as a potential replacement for the injured Real Madrid star Rodrygo in Brazil's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Nevertheless, according to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli has yet to contact either the player's agent or Sporting to confirm the activation of the buy option. Santos's future largely hinges on whether Napoli manages to secure a spot in the Champions League next season, as the club currently sits in third place in Serie A.
