Bisseck Prioritizes Scudetto Over Derby Wins: 'I'll Take Defeats for the Title'
Inter defender Yann Bisseck has made it clear that winning the Scudetto is his ultimate goal, even if it means accepting defeats in both Milan Derbies.
Currently, the Nerazzurri hold a seven-point lead at the top of the Serie A standings, a margin that was ten points before their recent 1-0 loss to city rivals, AC Milan.
AC Milan's recent victory marked their first time winning both Derby della Madonnina matches in a single Serie A season since 2010-11, the year they clinched the title under Max Allegri.
Bisseck Focused on Silverware for Inter
Despite AC Milan securing bragging rights with two 1-0 victories over Inter this season, Bisseck remains focused on the bigger objective.
"The derby is a match we desperately want to win, and we haven't succeeded in two years," Bisseck admitted during a charity event. "But if you told me at the start of the season that we would lose both derbies yet still win the Scudetto, I would absolutely take that deal."
While Inter holds a healthy seven-point lead, the title is far from secured, with ten matches remaining in the season.
"It's a significant advantage, but ten rounds is a lot, and we still have work to do," he added.
Last summer, Bisseck was rumored to be a target for Premier League clubs. When asked about potential future offers, he responded, "When you perform well, many clubs show interest, but my focus is entirely on Inter."
