According to multiple sources, Atalanta midfielder Ederson commenced his rigorous medical assessments with Manchester United today. These tests are scheduled to conclude on Friday, at which point a final decision regarding his €45 million transfer will be made.

The agreement for Ederson's transfer was reportedly finalized last month. Manchester United is set to pay a base fee of €40.5 million, with an additional €4.5 million contingent on bonuses.

A question mark has lingered over Ederson's fitness for both Atalanta and Manchester United. The transfer was contingent on him passing a medical, which was delayed due to his participation in the 2026 World Cup with Brazil under Carlo Ancelotti.

Although an initial medical examination took place in America at the Brazil training camp, doctors advised that further follow-up tests were necessary.

Both Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano have confirmed that Ederson underwent the initial phase of medical tests with Manchester United personnel today. The second round of examinations is slated for Friday, July 10. Following these tests, Manchester United will determine whether to proceed with the transfer.

Atalanta is reportedly optimistic about Ederson's condition, believing there are no significant health concerns. They suggest that if there were major issues, he would have been released from the Brazil squad at the World Cup.
