Inter Milan Explores Multiple Transfer Targets After Vicario Agent Meeting in London
Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio recently traveled to London, where his main objective was to engage in discussions with the agent of Guglielmo Vicario. However, it appears Ausilio also took the opportunity to investigate other potential transfer prospects.
The sporting director's trip earlier this week focused on advancing negotiations for Tottenham and Italy goalkeeper Vicario, who has emerged as the Nerazzurri’s top goalkeeping target for the upcoming season.
Latest Inter Transfer Developments: Vicario, Gimenez, Goretzka
Ausilio was accompanied by fellow Inter director Dario Baccin. Together, they attended a Champions League match between Tottenham and Atletico Madrid at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, joined by Vicario’s agent, Gabriele Giuffrida. The Inter directors were also reportedly present at Stamford Bridge for another match on Tuesday.
Relations between Vicario's agent and Inter's management are reportedly positive, and the Italian goalkeeper is understood to be open to a summer transfer to San Siro. Inter views Vicario as an ideal replacement for Yann Sommer, particularly considering his potential value for money.
While Cagliari's Elia Caprile and Real Madrid's Andriy Lunin have also been considered by the Serie A table leaders, Vicario remains their top preference, potentially available for around €20 million.
It is understood that Ausilio utilized his time in London not just for Vicario but also to gather intelligence on additional transfer prospects for the club.
Among these potential targets is Atletico Madrid’s José Maria Gimenez. Despite his contract running until June 2028, there is speculation he might be allowed to depart the Colchoneros for free at the end of the season.
Another player on Inter's radar is Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka. The German international, having decided against extending his contract with the Bavarian club, has reportedly been offered to several leading Serie A teams, making him another intriguing prospect for Inter.
