Inter Star Bonny Commits to Ivory Coast, Sidelined by Dental Issue
Inter forward Ange-Yoan Bonny has officially declared his decision to represent the Ivory Coast national team. However, the 22-year-old striker will not be available for the upcoming friendly matches against South Korea and Scotland later this month due to a "dental issue."
Bonny, born in Aubervilliers, Paris, with Ivorian heritage, had previously played for France at the U19, U20, and U21 levels. His commitment to the senior Ivory Coast squad was confirmed by head coach Émerse Faé.
Explaining Bonny's absence from the March friendlies, Faé stated, "He currently has dental issues, so we preferred to leave him with his club so he can regain full fitness, maintain consistency in his performances and join us at a later stage."
The friendly match against Scotland is scheduled for March 31 and will be played at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, home to Premier League side Everton.
The Ivory Coast national team has already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup, where they have been drawn into Group E alongside formidable opponents Ecuador, Germany, and Curaçao.
Bonny is currently enjoying a strong debut season with Inter, having netted seven goals in 37 appearances across all competitions, marking a significant contribution in his first year at the Stadio Meazza.
