Leeds United is reportedly preparing to intensify their pursuit of Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. This move comes as a direct consequence of the departure of their long-serving goalkeeper, Illan Meslier, who has officially completed his transfer to Arsenal.

Arsenal has confirmed the signing of the 26-year-old French international. Meslier leaves Elland Road after seven seasons, during which he made 215 appearances and recorded 70 clean sheets for Leeds. He will wear the number 30 jersey at his new club.

Suzuki Identified as Meslier's Successor

Meslier's exit creates a significant void in Leeds' goalkeeping department, and the club is said to be eager to fill it promptly. Suzuki has emerged as the primary target for Leeds, with reports indicating that a new offer for the Parma custodian is imminent.

The Japanese international has impressed during his tenure in Serie A, and his future has been a subject of speculation. Earlier in the transfer window, Italian giants Juventus were among the clubs linked with the goalkeeper.

A formal bid from Leeds United would now put Parma's stance to the test and potentially pave the way for one of Serie A's highly-rated young goalkeepers to secure a move to the Premier League.
