Napoli Midfielder Luis Hasa Switches International Allegiance to Albania
Napoli midfielder Luis Hasa, who is currently playing on loan at Carrarese, has made the significant decision to switch his international allegiance from Italy to Albania.
The 22-year-old possesses dual citizenship, having been born and raised in Italy by Albanian parents.
Hasa previously represented Italy at various youth levels, including Under-18, Under-19, Under-20, and Under-21 teams. However, he had not yet received a call-up to the senior Italian national squad.
As the prospect of a senior Italy call-up seemed increasingly unlikely, Hasa opted to change his allegiance and will now proudly represent Albania at the senior international level.
His football journey began in the Juventus youth academy, followed by a move to Lecce in 2024 before he was transferred to Napoli in January 2025.
Hasa was subsequently loaned out to Carrarese for the remainder of the current season, where the creative midfielder has impressed, contributing five goals and three assists in 25 Serie B appearances.
He earned three caps for Italy's Under-21 team, with his most recent appearance coming in a 1-0 victory against France in June 2024.
