Endrick's Loan Prospects: Roma and Milan Remain Interested Amidst Playing Time Concerns

Roma and Milan are once again looking to secure a loan deal for Endrick from Real Madrid in January. This renewed interest comes as Brazil's national team coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has voiced concerns that the young player "needs playing time to develop."

Both Italian clubs had previously approached Real Madrid over the summer, aiming to replicate the strategy seen with Franco Mastantuono's loan to Fiorentina. Despite initial expectations that Endrick would receive ample opportunities, his playing time this season has been minimal. He has made only one four-minute appearance in a 3-2 win against Elche, remained an unused substitute in three other matches, and was sidelined due to injury for four more.

This lack of consistent game time has reportedly frustrated Ancelotti, who manages the Brazilian national team.

Ancelotti's Stance on Young Talent Development

Ancelotti recently commented on the challenges faced by young Brazilian players moving to Europe. "The problem for Brazilian kids is they don’t improve because they don’t play regularly," he stated during a press conference. "It happens to Endrick, but also talents like Estevao, they go to Europe at age 18 or 19 for big clubs and don’t find space. Without playing, they cannot develop." He added, "We have some very young and promising talents, and Endrick will become important for Brazil in future, but they need to play."

Endrick himself has experienced a similar situation before, having spent time on loan at Olympique Lyonnais starting in January 2026. During that spell, he contributed eight goals and eight assists across 21 competitive matches.

Now, Roma and Milan are hoping to persuade both Endrick and Real Madrid to allow him to move to Serie A mid-season, seeking to offer him the playing time Ancelotti believes is crucial for his growth.
